bear with me as I will  post another picture of what I ate today;)as you all can see we really enjoy our food here!Today was a late brunch with eggs and bacon and a walnut pancake with bananas and cream,paleo food!The pancake is really one of my best inventions,not only healthy but keeps you full a long time.Mix 2dl of walnut flour and 1 egg and some butter,stir and fry as a normal pancake.Yumm!

So, I got a few days between me and my boyfriend (that is the reason why I'm departing to Holland).I will keep the good mood up and play a lot of poker while Pauline is soon away to enjoy Paris and all it's beaty....au revoir mon cheri

Late night snack

We just came back from a walk in the port.Today we went for a lunch with our grandparents and cousins and then we made dessert here at home.I ate meatballs with brown sauce and lingonberry,the typical swedish dish you can get everywhere. It's been a nice day with family and now we will start grinding in a few minutes!

Blueberry pie and celebration

Today we have invited some relatives over for a coffee and some sweets. It was our grandmothers birthday some days ago and since we're in Sweden we decided to invite them over to celebrate! Now we have been baking and cleaning, we are gonna serve blueberry pie with whipped cream and dark chocolate cookies (everything lchf of course).

Before the "fika" we are gonna have lunch with everyone and are waiting for our grandparents to pick us up.

I don't have much of spare energy at the moment,all the yoga and powerwalks I was supposed to do is just not happening.Got an allergic reaction that won't go away and no matter how much I eat I don't seem to gain weight. (I'm one of those few persons that get happy every time I manage to put on an extra kilo)..so today I screwed the bullet coffee with coconut fat and butter and instead I threw in a half litre of whipped cream...yumm..now I will be grinding and tonight I will spoil myself with fresh shrimps and  aioli.Since I look terrible I will just put a pic of my coffee (I already ate the half of the cream as u can see;))
This morning we went to Green market (the eco café) and went through some hands together. When we got back it was time for lunch so I fried up some spinach with garlic and had it with the leftovers from this week (liver hamburgers and sauerkraut). Now I just started grinding and it's time to focus again!

New schedule and better focus!

Having breakfast and going through some hands from yesterday. I can see that I made some multitabling mistakes and that is not acceptable so today, no webpages open what so ever! I'm also adding another network to play at which will increase my number of tables, even more important to have good focus.

Today's breakfast:: lchf bread with butter, eggs and "Kalles kaviar" and coconut milk with berries and nuts.

I took a sleep in this morning and just got out of bed, trying to cover my gloomy look with a huge cup of coffee to wake up...buhuu...autumn depression has set in early this year,although I did not even notice the summer.The worst summer in Swedish history someone said on TV:)hehe,I will definitely not be living in this country for long, thank you very much.

As you can see I'm not enjoying what Sweden has been offering lately,especially not when my sister gets a trip to France and my mother writes me from Vegas. I'm counting down the days until I will be leaving for Holland,14 days today;)speaking of Vegas and my mum,she just told me she is getting remarried in Elvis capell one of these days...and it was not a joke!haha good to see that someone is enjoying herself,yo go mama!

anyways,here is a pic of a wonderful eco chicken with cream sauce and bacon I ate yesterday...delicious!It's easy to cook and so good. Just roll a bacon around some chicken,put it in the oven until it's crispy. Cook some sauce(cream or coconutmilk) add some fried mushrooms and let it get tick. Salt and pepper and serve with salad or some veggies.

why i eat sauerkraut

to almost every meal i eat i add some sauerkraut (fermented cabbage). here's why:

  1. Sauerkraut as immune booster
    One of the not so secret benefits of sauerkraut is the boost it gives to immune systems. Packed with vitamins andminerals, sauerkraut has been used as a lay immune booster for centuries.Sauerkraut contains phytochemicals which are created during the fermentation process. These naturally occurring, beneficial by products of sauerkraut help boost the immune system which leads to a decrease in a number of health problems. The common cold, skin problems, weight gain and tainted blood are all fixed by a healthy functioning immune system.
  2. Sauerkraut as cancer fighter
    The most recent evidence of sauerkraut's status as a Superfood is found in numerous studies on the cruciferous wonder's cancer fighting properties. The results of a study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry concluded that sauerkraut is a cancer inhibitor. A recent study by the American Center for Cancer Research has found that sauerkraut has a profound effect in preventing and healing breast cancer. Based on reports that breast cancer rates amongst polish women in the United States were much higher than those in Poland researchers set out to find out why. Their answer; the women who still lived in Poland ate significantly larger amounts of sauerkraut especially important while they were in adolescence. The research found that the women who immigrated Americanized' their diets and stopped eating as much of the super food that is sauerkraut thus increasing their rates of breast cancer.
  3. Digestive Aid
    Eating sauerkraut is a great way to protect the balance of bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract. Sauerkraut is one of the few foods that contain the bacterium Lactobacilli plantarum. L. planatarum is a very dominant strain of healthful bacteria which helps your digestive system in the following ways: boost the immune system by increasing antibodies that fight infectious disease help inhibit pathogenic organisms including E.coli, salmonella and unhealthy overgrowth of candida (yeast) create antioxidants (glutathione and superoxide dismustase) that scavenge free radicals which are a cancer precursor transforms hard-to-digest lactose from milk to the more easily digested lactic acid. These various properties are the best scientific reasons given for what has been known by loyal users for millennia, sauerkraut cures an upset stomach and is the best natural physic there is. Many sources say raw fermented foods are beneficial to the digestive system by increasing the healthy flora in the intestinal tract or creating the type of environment for them to flourish. Sauerkraut and its juice are traditional folk remedies for constipation. Fermentation actually increases nutrient values in the cabbage, especially vitamin C.     With the spread of Avian Flu spreading across the globe, one enterprising Korean scientist, Kang Sa-Ouk of Seoul National University, took 13 chickens infected with avian flu virus and a couple of other diseases, fed them Kim chi extract and found that 11 of the birds recovered. Experts think the vital bacteria are created during the fermenting process and this gives the dish its health-boosting qualities

Grind, soreness and dinner

Playing the last tables, both me and Femi are in pain and just want the poker to finish. Yesterday we decided to give each other massage, since we have a lot of knots around the neck-area we really massaged with full force until our arm muscles couldn't handle more. We haven't done any workouts since July (especially not exercises that include biceps or triceps) and today the arms are in PAIN, it feels like having done 100 pushups.. Poker is going okay, just waiting for my energy depleted, sore body getting the same upswing!

Dinner: Wild boar and liver hamburger with spinach and sauerkraut with mayonnaise.

Hi! Today I ate lunch at a eco restaurant in the port,didn't have any imagination of what to cook and I wanted to spoil myself a little. Good lunch-deals you can find everywhere in Sweden and always great quality and cheap..like 10 euro:) I ate chicken with cream sauce and bacon and bought myself a can of almond butter as dessert. Banana and almond-butter is a great combination of snacks if you're not afraid of some extra calories.I'm not,I would love to get some more meat on my skinny legs!


Wasn't hungry this morning when we wen't to the eco-place so I just got an americano. When we got back I had some sort of caffeine-rush and cleaned the whole apartment, we always work better when it's fresh and tidy.

Now I just had lunch, yesterdays curry stew with spinach and cauliflower rice drenched in butter (just blend cauliflower until it's "rice" sized and then pan fry it in a loot of butter for about 10 mins until it gets brownish)

Cat on the butt

Femi woke me up by putting a cat on my butt (?!) saying "Eh, she wants you to wake up..hehe" I really, really hate being woken up (especially when it involves a cat and my behind) so I mumbled something like "Hell no, get out" But couldn't fall back asleep, argh needed that extra hour!.. Anyway, I don't feel like crap anymore so today we are finally gonna get out of the apartment and go have a breakfast at a nice cafe by the port. Yesterday was a pretty good day of poker and since we've been working so hard we deserve to go out and treat ourselves a little :)

Recovering through food

Still feeling queasy today and I'm done with feeling like this! If it's not the ketosis fault and I have some kind of cold or flu, I'm gonna make damn sure I recover fast. This morning I googled what food contains the most nutrients,antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and then went to the store. Now I've been cooking for 40 mins, and that just sucked my energy right out of me! This is the food I found:

  • An excellent source of high-quality protein

hello hey

September is coming to an end and as I watch the hours of sun decreasing I try to look forward to October. Let's hope October will have a banging start and a mother ass poker upswing! Yesterday at 23 pm I had 4 tables left, at 23.30 I had none.  (exactly like the 3 past evenings)sucking up my nerves and try not to hit my head in the desk while seeing bad beat after bad beat getting me kicked out. Poker, poker I love you I hate you...a terrible end of a great month.Can it be that all my logical vanishes after 23 pm and I end up making terrible wrong decisions?Like when you drink alcohol and  a person gets more and more good looking after each zip and you don't even want to remember what happened the day after?!god no,lets hope this is a small down swing...
so obviously I'm now going to give it another try,persistence!Looking forward to be brilliant the next upcoming weeks!

ps.I was trying to be nice to Pauline this morning,doing a huge cup of tea,breakfast at the bed.But was kicked out even before entering by a big noooooo I feel sick...so I will mind my own business and let the poor creature sleep.have a nice day

high blood pressure

More and more I hear about people having high blood pressure and are taking all these medicines as a "cure". I'm getting worried,people should know about the terrible effects of the food we put into our bodies and how they could prevent eating medicine for the rest of their life. So I wrote a short introduction to why we get high blood pressure and how we can avoid it.

High carb foods cause your insulin levels to rise and with high insulin levels your blood pressure will increase. Fruits and other high-carb food rises your blood sugar and eventually causes insulin receptors too grow resistant to insulin. This means in short description that your body will retain fluids which in turn causes high blood pressure, and can lead to congestive heart failure..

In a healthy body insulin stores magnesium, but a lifestyle of high carb eating causes damaged cell receptors and magnesium can't get into the cells,which causes a deficiency in magnesium.Lack of magnesium will make your blood vessels constrict and raise your blood pressure.Other signs of magnesium deficiency  you can notice is lack of energy,headache,migraine and restless leg.Early signs of a body that is getting sick is also depression, inflammation, learning disabilities..

Eating a lot of fruit and high carb food will eventually damage your body.Fructose is high in uric acid, which increases blood pressure and causes gout.Fructose increases lactic acid in the blood,high levels cause metabolic acidosis.Other bad effects fructose does to us ;increases ageing(changes the collages of our skin making it prone to wrinkles) High consumption of fructose leads to mineral losses: iron, calcium magnesium and zinc, which can lead to low bone density (osteoporosis) bone loss, anaemia, defects of the arteries, infertility, high cholesterol levels, heart attacks and inability to control blood sugar.

Do you ever get really full if you eat fruit?no,didn't think so. The reason is that fructose has no effect on our hunger hormone leptin. (Leptin is the hormone that controls when and how much we eat)You can actually become leptin resistant,can you imagine being that with a high carb and sugar diet?Terrible!
high blood pressure and uncontrolled blood sugar go hand in hand and is a lot more harmful than people ever can imagine.

So if you have high blood pressure,diabetes or are overweight,stay away from highcarb food and frutcose! Keep in mind that even if you are healthy a diet consisting of this kind of food eventually can make you sick.A fruit every now and then is not harmful for a normal healthy person but don't overeat it!

Headache and pain

I still feel awful, I have the worst headache in a long time and it feels like I have the flu. Despite all this I played poker today, maybe not the best of ideas but I got through it. I haven't been able to eat much at all, I decided though that what I did put in my body would be the most nutritious I know, egg, some salt (to balance my minerals) and salmon roe with some mayo. This little meal contains all vitamins except C vitamin and the mayo provided me with some extra calories. Yummy..

Terrible night and nutritional ketosis

How I'm feeling today
I felt fine before going to bed, maybe a little sluggish and then 30 minutes into trying to fall asleep the hell started. I got muscle cramps, started to shake and felt super cold, i put on 3 knitted sweaters, socks and a pair of pants but i still was cold. Me and Femi are sharing a double bed here and in the middle of my pain and sickness I get this comment "What the hell are you doing Pau?!" I explained my situation and all i got as a response was a big sigh and then she turned away, annoyed by my moaning and shaking. I don't remember the last time I felt so sorry for myself..

Today I feel better but I'm extremely tired, weak and have a hint of headache. I've been searching online to figure out what this might be and it seems like I've gotten into a deeper ketosis, and having transition symptoms. These past couple of days I've been having this coconut oil/butter coffee which happened to suppress  my appetite and when I ate I haven't had so much protein, mostly fat and few carbohydrates. Apparently this is the recipe for getting into a deep nutritional ketosis, haha!

Anyway, I managed to eat an egg yolk omelette with butter fried chanterelles and spinach.

Now it's grinding time!

Breakfast today was fullfat russian yoghurt with blueberries and a cup of tea!I know I just wrote in previous posts that I'm avoiding all unnecessary lactose but today we overslept and I was too lazy too do something complicated:)Was going to do a lot of errands in town today but won't have any time for that,right now starts my grinding day.Tomorrow is another day:Dpoor pauline has been having fever all night but she is a fighter and will be playing some poker!

Why butter is good for you

Butter has got a bad rep for a long time due to its high content of saturated fat and has instead been replaced by highly processed vegetable oils with an unhealthy amount of omega 6 fatty acids. I hope you all know by now that saturated fat is not dangerous. What also has been neglected is the fact that butter contains high amounts of nutrients that many people today are deficient in. What is really important though is that the butter comes from grass fed cows, instead of grain fed. Butter contains :
- High amounts of vitamin K2 which works to activate certain proteins that vitamin A and D produce. It is important for brain function and the reproductive system.Vitamin K2 deficiency might also be the cause of most kidney stones 
- Byrtic acid which is short-chain saturated fatty acid that is produced by our gut flora and is used for energy by our colon. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-stress properties and is being studied to cure all kinds of problem including leaky gut, Chron’s disease and a host of autoimmune diseases.
- CLA (Conjugated linoleic acid) that has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Numerous studies have shown CLA to hinder the growth of mammary, colon and skin cancers.
Grass-fed sources contain from 300% to 500% more CLA than their grain-fed counterparts. 
-Grass-fed cows butter is rich in vitamin A, vitamin E, iodine, selenium and beta-carotenes.
Vitamin A is essential for proper protein metabolism, a strong immune system, good thyroid function, good vision, bone metabolism and skin health. It’s also a powerful antioxidant. Vitamin A works in synergy with vitamin D and vitamin K2 to properly deposit calcium in bones and teeth and provide proper bone mineralization. Most sources of beta-carotenes like carrots are thought to be good sources of vitamin A because beta-carotene can be transformed to the usable vitamin A form, but this is incorrect and the conversion is actually really poor. Folks who eat a lot of carrots while thinking that they get plenty of vitamin A are mislead. Iodine is a mineral that is really important for proper thyroid functioning and most people today have very low levels of iodine. Selenium and vitamin E are two powerful antioxidants that are also lacking in most people’s diet. 

So go ahead and indulge in plenty of butter!

Bulletproof coffee

We love coffee and we need at least a cup of it a day. I learned early to drink my coffee with milk or drink a cappuccino or latte. But since we started with this kind of lifestyle we wanted to cut down on all unnecessary dairy. So this is a tip on how to do a cup of coffee that taste quite the same as if you would have milk in it. (Invented by the guy behind The bulletproof diet, Dave Aspry)

Do your normal brewed/filtered coffee as you like it. Take 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil,take the same amount of unsalted butter.Mix all the ingrediens together with a mixer and serve and drink t!

It keeps you satiated longer and provides you with healthy fats.

So I just have to post this hand that I played yesterday.I got so many angry complains about my call that I have to prove that I actually was right;)

As you can see I hold KTo on BB when a "reg" shoves 10BB more or less (antes is in the picture).The big question is TO CALL OR NOT!?
Lets take a closer look!I put him on a range that is 55% in this situation. I could have put him on a much wider range,his actual range must be more like 100%,his hand was 92o.
So as you can see KTo against 55% range gives me even a lead with 53.8%.
15880/7090= 2.23 100/2.23= 44.8
 So this tells me that I need to have at least 44.8% to call and I have more than enough with my 53.8%.

Conclusion:A clear call(against this person)A extra note; If this would have been a tight fish I would have folded.But against any tight aggressive reg I think this is a call.Maybe it would have been a fold on the bubble,but a quite tight one then.

Back to reality and a huge recap of my summer

I have been travelling on and off since mid July and poker has not been on the top of my list.. Before my vacation poker was going incredibly bad, the internet connection in Rio shut down a couple of hours per day and i was completely fed up with poker, had bad focus and felt like quitting. The vacation came in just the right time!

It was an amazing vacation, we started with a "road trip" from the south of Sweden to Stockholm and I introduced my bf to our crazy family. After Sweden we went to Athens and spent a couple of days in bf's apartment. After that we went to the super romantic island Santorini, rented a four wheeler and managed to get around the whole island during our stay. After Santorini we took the ferry to Amorgos, which is is a smaller island famous for it's beautiful beaches. Tanned and a bit tired of beach-time we returned to Athens to relax and to some touristic stuff. 

From Greece we flew to Norway and i got to spend some time with my friends since childhood that i never have time to see nowadays (drank plenty of wine and went clubbing). From Norway we went back to Sweden and my bf met up with his 3 friends he had convinced to come to Sweden and i went back home to prepare for Barcelona.

After some really fun days in Barcelona, i flew to Copenhagen to meet up with my guy (he was exhausted after a party week with his friends) and we spent 3 days drinking great coffee, eating good food, shopping and catching up. 

Now im back in Malmö and i really feel like getting back to my routines (working out, eating well, playing hard and blogging). I've been studying poker during the entire trip and so far i've been having good results!

passion and profit

good morning!Woke up too marvellous sunshine and the sea breeze....or not,rain and cats screaming is more the truth.Yesterday we both grinded for 10 hours and we had a good start of our poker month.As I said before it's hard to come back from a vacation and go straight into 10-12 hours of grinding. I believe that you have to have a big portion of passion to do this job.I meet many "hobby" players when I been playing live tournaments and I always get shocked faces when they hear I'm a full time pokerplayer. Devotion breeds passion and a big portion of love,as with any other job or hobby I guess. The only way to succeed in what you do is to love what you do.And when you love what you do usually you are good at it and then the rest comes free.The most successful persons made their passion their work and are now multimillionaires...so when they ask me how I can live on it I just smile and say it's my passion;)

so,whats up today!?me and Pauline are waiting for our grandmother to stop by for a quick visit. After some catching up with her we will start our working day!have a nice day everyone.

yesterday me and ian had a nice dinner at a michelin star restaurant called formel b, the food was really good! i had 3 courses: foie gras toast, veal carpaccio and lobster, too full to even talk about having dessert.

today we had breakfast at the paleo place again and then we did some shopping. now we are chilling at the hotel and enjoying our last day together in a while.. tomorrow im heading back to reunite with my dear siblings in malmö, i have a tough poker month ahead!


update on emop!

So the winner of emop was a guy named Sergei Petrushin. My brother came as you know on place 16 and the other swedish guy that managed to hit the finaltable placed as nr 8. Me and Pauline hanged around the 2 finaltables with the girlfriend of the guy and drank a lot of wine. After each hand the swedish guy came and complained about his hands and of other players game(especially our brother)hehe...ofcourse it's good to be tight on the bubble to 1 table but the swedish guy folded  AJ,JJ and AJs for a 10bb push from the button and small blind..say what you want but I do think it's a pretty clear call;)and when he saw the cards that was in game he got even more frustrated...we had a pretty good laugh as we listened to his complains...here are 2 pictures I found of me and Niclas on pokermagazine..
